We are already accustomed to conventional solar panels. the popularity of which every year in all countries is only increasing. But since the announcement of solar tiles from Elon Musk, a lot of time has passed, and this technology has not gained popularity.
Only a small number of engineers know why, and do not recommend such a technology to apply at home. And I am one of those engineers.
The thing is that despite the obvious advantages of this technology over all the usual ones, there is also a reverse side of the coin, namely difficult climatic conditions. But this has nothing to do with the number of sunny days in the country.
Such a system will be relevant only in the region where snow is either absent or does not linger for a long time.
The most interesting thing, I came across an article when people complained that the power in the winter, with snow cover, even after clearing snow from the solar tiles from Elon Musk, does not give a practical result about the efficiency of solar tiles during this period. On the contrary, it makes no sense to use it, or rely on it if there is snow. But when the snow melts, it starts to work as stated by the manufacturer.
You think this was unforeseen. Yes, of course you can! It is enough just to observe how ordinary panels behave under snow cover, or at the time of short-term thaws and sharp frosts. And it would immediately become clear that there is no point in using such technology where there is snow!
Such temperature differences are found not only in many regions, but also in countries. Which leads to the formation of an ice crust on solar modules. which simply cannot be removed. Moreover, every year I more and more often encounter a similar phenomenon, when in a day, there may be more than once such drops from plus to minus, and even with snow, which can lead to a centimeter crust of ice on solar panels.
And the only two ways to get rid of it are either to wait for the thaw, having prepared in advance, and to further facilitate the ice melting by removing excess snow. Or heat the panels using a coolant, or by spending energy on electric heating, which is by no means advisable.
And thus, already knowing these introductory, a reasonable person will not acquire such a tile for himself, where he lives all year round. And in this section, he will focus on the classic versions of solar panels that are easier to work with.
Any technology has its advantages. And all technologies are relevant, because for certain tasks, due to such developments, it is easier to make a more correct choice.
And with competent analyzes, you can paint in advance, and have a more complete idea of where and how such solutions, even before production, will not only be in demand. But they will take their leading positions.
Comfort yourself in that. after all, it looks harmonious with my roof, somehow it is not reasonable if the effectiveness of such an application is very small.
