In this video, I will answer a question that I often see on different channels. And then the time came when they wrote me a similar proposal. Is it possible to use a gas generator through a diode bridge and connect 220 V to the MPPT 450 V controller. I definitely remember similar experiments were carried out by my viewers. And another nonsense of a similar nature sounded not about a gas generator, but from the state network to carry out a similar procedure. You know, when people don’t understand and don’t understand, they are ready to come up with and voice any nonsense. Which people with experience can decide on the vine. For example, the latest offer from the state network, if you turn on your head. All modern inverters have both a bypass mode and a built-in charger from the state network. Personally, I don’t understand the point of burning a 450-volt MPPT controller, which should have a current limit for the connected array.
And yes, I don’t understand, because I know what restrictions there are, and how certain devices work, and I understand what restrictions there are in the circuit. Or what consequences might arise. That’s why I never proposed such nonsense as an idea. But I didn’t consider it in a serious way.
And if you think that you are the smartest, before doing this yourself, like this commentator.

It may be easier to put a rectifier at the output from the gene, and supply a constant 220V to the input of the solar panels if the inverter accepts the voltage at the input of the panels.

If you have a lot of money, do this nonsense yourself, but never advise anyone. Or maybe it will fly

What nonsense, what’s wrong with the system. I’m waiting for the rectifier and will try, what difference does it make to the input voltage, the rectifier is $2 and the power supply is $40. Most likely, the generator may burn out if you give a normal charge to the battery.
First of all, you might wonder why such a solution is not offered by the engineers who develop and test such equipment. After all, for this implementation of this stupid idea, according to them, 4 details are enough.
But personally, I am considering not just a diode bridge, but with an addition in the form of a smoothing electrolytic capacitor. And that’s why I’m voicing 5 details.
It’s very bad when people don’t understand electronics and don’t know how to read schematics, and have no idea how they work. This is precisely why I never tire of repeating. Do not recommend dangerous connections to those who do not understand this, especially when you yourself are complete zeroes in this. Or be responsible for consequences that you cannot analyze without experience and understanding!
Dear friends, I strongly do not recommend checking this on your equipment, because it is difficult to predict exactly how your equipment will react to these connections, and what exactly will happen in your case. And if you also connect the inverter in bypass mode to the network or gas generator at the same time. The consequences could be even worse.
The problem here, as well as the difficulty of calculating the consequences, is that equipment of different generations, and with different degrees of safety margin, have different protection thresholds. And what generation of equipment you have, and what degree of its reduction in price, will lead to different consequences.
Use the equipment strictly for its intended purpose!!!
I am beginning to understand why precautionary measures are now being replenished with various descriptions of delusional uses. Many people have simply forgotten how to think.
